XP-riencing heart attack
The Bank is now using XP and has updated to MS Office 2003. Foolishly, we listened to Bill Gates’ disciples and partitioned our hard disk memory between system and files with a clear line slicing in between my 20GB memory divvying up between systems and files. Foolish I say because it failed to incorporate the needs of some special application software we are using such as my mapping software… which is not %$!#%#@$$ working now because of this partitioning! “
“
Let me explain, at least I will try with my limited IT vocabulary… the software requires for its files to be stored as part of the root directory but with the partitioning, one cannot launch one’s files because the software can no longer find the associated files because it is not part of the root directory. I think the files/software partitioning works like an auto-debit system in a bank account. So how does this %!@#$@# affect me? Well, I am in the middle of my master’s paper and I am working with maps! Also, our license manager for the mapping software has not been upgraded to XP precisely because of this issue which means, I CANNOT even launch the software to see if I can work on a new map! “
“
I have sent an email to my adviser and she asked me if moving my presentation date would help… I said it would buy me more time but it won’t solve my dilemma. I will just have to come up with a different way of presenting my maps, using some sort of IT/software… like photoshop! “

Buzzing life away…
It’s been a week since I moved into my new office lair and I ain’t complaining… especially with my new printer. I can now actually do some writing for my master’s project. They have scheduled my presentation for 18 February, which means my life is on hold until that day. The problem I’m encountering now… aside from making my maps… is that I am having difficulty placing my maps in my document “
” When I move it a notch, my 19 page document runs amuck and ends up having gazillions of pages. It’s driving me nuts! Let’s just pray I finish it on time “
”
As for work… it’s going pretty well… aside from some tasks that manage to slip through the cracks of day-to-day confusion “
“
Ooohhh, I just remembered, I had a massage at the Neo day spa at the Fort. The masseuse was soo good because for the first time I did not complain about the scalp part of the massage. Usually, they press on the parts that is just soo unbearably painful. This time, the pressure was just right at the right places.
I also want to greet my dear pal CECILLE CATANGHAL-SLISH, have a splendid BIRTHDAY!
