trampolines and somersaults
Last Sunday, I tried the trampoline at the Play Underground at the Power Plant Mall in Makati. It costs 120 pesos for 5 minutes… doesn’t sound like much but when you’re there, that 5 minutes sure seems long. They have a maximum weight of 120 lbs, they used to accommodate heftier people but they don’t have that cord at that time.
Anyway, I was harnessed and buckled up and bungee trampoline machine did it’s thing. I thought I was going to do the jumping but the machine did it for me already. I tried to do forward somersaults, I tried to learn platform diving several years back so I “knew” the theory of the maneouver. After several foiled attempts, I managed a nice clean somersault… it was fun.
It’s difficult when you don’t complete the swing because it’s strenuous to bounce horizontally. I tried to do the backflip but I just couldn’t bring my legs up… I forgot to swing my arms backwards to help propel my body.
It was great fun… after 5-minutes of jumping and sorta flying, I was breathless and my arms were shaking, I felt sooo tired and hungry… so off we went to lunch =)

dancing and underwater hockey
Been a lazy blogger… apologies, many little things get in the way and the day has ended even before you know it.
I’ve been busy with dance rehearsals because my office dance club will be having a “dance concert” next week, 31 August. I have a couple of dances and 1 in particular needs a lot of rehearsing. We’re dancing to El Tango de Roxanne from Moulin Rouge and the routines are quite difficult. The thing is (yes, this will relate to underwater hockey) I noticed I am able to “think” better when playing underwater hockey since I returned to dancing. I guess recalling the dance routines while you’re dancing is similar to remembering the puck handling and faking moves for underwater hockey. Of course, remembering the moves is way different from having the stamina to do them hahaha.
By the way, the underwater hockey worlds championship just finished. Click underwater hockey 2006 Worlds to check it out.
Gotta go now, off to rehearsal again.

cat or dog?
| You Are: 60% Dog, 40% Cat |
![]() You are a nice blend of cat and dog. You’re playful but not too needy. And you’re friendly but careful. And while you have your moody moments, you’re too happy to stay upset for long. |

Japan restroom adventure
I went to Tokyo 2 weeks ago (26-29 July) for a job interview. Ain’t it cool? It’s a big busy place and I was intimated by the lack of English script especially as one travels away from the city centers.
One of the first things I had to see were the restrooms ![]()
The restroom at the airport was a handicapped/baby-friendly cubicle that each contained a diaper-changing table and railing for the handicapped.
I stayed in a business hotel at the Ginza-Shiodome district. What I liked most was the temperature control for both the toilet water and the toilet seat!
I also encountered the type where you had to squat. I didn’t know that the last two cubicles normally have the sit-down type toilets. My friend told me about that… so next time you are in Japan, if you’re not keen on squatting, check out the last 2 cubicles and you just might find familiar ground.
Here are some pictures…
