non working holiday

We have been advised: Non-working holiday tomorrow in observance of All Saints’ Day. Yipee! No work! Most businesses, government offices will be closed. Expect major traffic uh-oh and heightened security presence near cemeteries Also heard on the radio, as with the past years, beer, gambling, and loud music are prohibited in cemeteries. While we know why it’s being banned, we also know that aside from Christmas, this is one of those holidays where families get together. In my family, after my grandparents have died, this is the only time I see most of my aunts, uncles, cousins and their kids.

While I don’t like staying for hours at the cemetery, I try to visit in the morning or late evening and then head back home to catch up on my videos. Nothing better than to sleep in late, spend a quiet day at home and have nothing to do aahhh bliss!

tension headaches

We have yet another vacancy… another officemate got promoted and has been requested to transfer to her new department by November 13. Where’s our 30 days transition time after effectivity? Oh well, she deserves the promotion, she’s such a dependable and hardworking colleague and I will really miss her especially since we’ve been working together more lately to meet the demands of that other vacancy we have that hasn’t been filled yet

I have been experiencing tension headaches… according to the doctor. I had recurring headaches for several weeks now but it was really bad last Sunday after u/w hockey. I got beaten up, kicked in various places and hit on the head quite hard during the Sunday afternoon game I had a headache after that and on Tuesday the BF has “ordered” me to go see the doctor, I might have head injuries or something.

So off I went to the doctor and she said it’s probably tension headaches. I am under a LOT of stress lately and she said that there’d be other signs and symptoms if it was indeed related to head injuries. She gave me headache medicine to take once a day, so far so good but I still have that “going to get flu” feeling

retail therapy

I have been wanting to write about my recent therapeutic experience… SHOPPING! Any woman would agree that shopping can be quite therapeutic, relaxing and exhilirating.
Last Saturday, I went with 2 friends to the wholesale mecca in Manila… Divisoria

I know it’s still quite early for Christmas gifts shopping but in Divisoria, October is just about right, nearer to December means the place is going to be jampacked with shoppers and pickpockets. It was already quite crowded when we went.

Our first stop was in Quintin Paredes to buy gift wrappers. Regular mall prices are at 10-15 pesos and we got really nice, pretty, thick wrappers for only 2.80 pesos. Imagine that! Some stores sell wrappers for 3.50 pesos, which still isn’t bad at all. I also bought double sided tapes for only 15 pesos for the 1/4 inch width and 25 pesos for the half inch width. I also managed to find a really nice “generic” wrapper so all in all, I bought a total of 70 sheets of wrapper, tapes and 2 boxes of gift tags at only 10 pesos per box of 100.

Then we walked through Juan Luna street to get to Divisoria Mall. Along this street, one will find several shops selling kids toys. Great thing is the toys are the same as the ones you’ll find in the malls except that sometimes they don’t come in boxes. My friend bought her daughter a dollhouse for 600 and it sells for 900 at Toys R us. We also found these really nice Mickey Mouse cars for toddlers, they’re nice because they actually look like Mickey Mouse hahaha. However, we didn’t find any nice toys for little girls. Maybe in the next trip

We were having so much fun that we had lunch at 3:00pm at Tasty Dumplings in Ongpin. And that was because we could no longer ignore our growling stomachs hehehe.

new baby

he’s sooo cute! my boyfriend’s niece gave birth to a baby boy, Lawrence Andrei. We visited him two days after he was born and my, my, he’s already showing some attitude hahaha. I’ll post pictures I took from my phone as soon as I get my multi-card reader… or decide to buy another one because I lent/gave it to the boyfriend.
