mandatory retirement

i attended a meeting over lunch and boy was it agonizing… there i was already missing what could be a yummy and leisurely lunch but responsibilities forced me to endure a presentation i could barely understand….

the topic is interesting… it’s the presentor that’s the problem…

“the p-p-project… the project is located in…” “th-the construction will will meet sp-specifications” a-a-aaaarrrrrrrggggghh

he isn’t senile, in fact he has good command of the topic, it’s just agonizing to listen to him…

i now am a staunch supporter of mandatory retirement…

baby Maia

We visited my friend Hae last night at the hospital.. she gave birth to a bouncing baby girl early Sunday morning… the baby is sooo cute…almost 7 lbs and with beautiful long limbs making her 19 inches long.

She was supposed to deliver normal, being fully dilated at 10cm but they had to do a C-section because the umbilical cord wound around the baby’s neck… TWICE! It made us queasy listening to her recount labor pains, that painless is a misnomer because despite 2 shots of epidural there was still pain… less but still there was pain…

and after that “ordeal”… you see this wonderful miracle all ready for some cuddling and loving….

Maria… n

she needs to meet Inday para kahit si John mahirapan sa English…

There was this Pinay named Maria who was born and raised in Olongapo City . She met her husband, John while he was stationed at Subic Bay Naval Base.

Maria doesn’t have an excellent command of the English language, but she and John manage to communicate. One day, Maria decided to cook a big dinner for John, so she called John up at work and told him to come home straight from work.

John and his co-workers had been working long hours trying to finish up a project their admiral had assigned weeks ago, so they were excited to finally finish it. They decided to go to the ship’ S chow hall to celebrate.

When John came home around midnight, he realized he forgot about the dinner that Maria had made for him. As Maria came out of the kitchen, John began to explain.

John: “Honey, I’m really sorry. The guys decided to celebrate a little bit, so we ended up eating at the ship.”

Maria: ” Ah, like ! That, ha? I cook the house for you, you eat the ship! ”

John: “Honey, I’m really sorry.”

Maria: ” Ahh! Don’t sorry to me! From now, you do your do, I do my do! You harden there! “

[Maria's Tagalog translation] Ah, ganon ha? Pinagluto Kita dito as bahay, kumain ka naman as barko! Mula ngayon, gawin MO ang gusto mong gawin, gagawin ko ang gusto Kong gawin! MANIGAS KA DIYAN!

This is Maria’s story. If you didn’t find it as funny, oh well…

YOU HARDEN THERE!
