holy week ramblings part 2
Days in Naga not that different from one other… most days were spent reading books, surfing the Net (thank goodness for We Roam!!!), idle chit chat, playing with little boy Andrei (Joy’s 1.5 year old grand nephew who is just soo adorable), occassional trips to the convenience stores and pastry shops, and of course… eating!
We also did some wedding stuff… oh yeah.. i haven’t blogged about that yet but yes, after several fun- and adventure-filled years, Joy and I have finally decided to take the plunge. Finally, my ultimatum worked hahaha seriously, well, I am serious!
We actually started discussing this last year… making inquiries, reservations but I didn’t take it too seriously because he hasn’t proposed yet… hehehe sigurista eh baka drawing lang. The wedding planner even came before the proposal hahaha
Suffice it to say, things are being planned, decisions are being made but nothing is really final except the date, time and place. I suppose some wedding prep stuff will be posted here but this will not become a wedding blog.
Eniwei, back to the holy week ramblings… Friday we went to see the evening holy week procession but missed the afternoon cenaculo…
Saturday, i ran 5km at the track oval… gosh.. despite my almost everyday gym and treadmill sessions, running on track is still way different and much harder… i’m slow again
8minutes per km haaay
Sunday we heard mass… that I understood… usually it was in Bicolano and I can only understand most of the conversational one.
Monday we drove back to Manila after lunch… no traffic! Yey! Only 9 hours, it would have been less if we didn’t spend so long at dinner.

holy week ramblings
Another road trip to Bicol… this one was particularly a challenge because I barely got to sleep. I finished packing at around 2am and had to be ready in time for the planned ETD of 4am but ended up leaving at 5am though no fault of mine =)
The plan was to leave early, drive leisurely and do visita iglesia while were at it. We did all that except the leave at 4am part. There’s no doubt “Summer is HERE!” It was scorching hot and traffic was really bad. Joy and I would trade places driving every hour, it was long enough but wasn’t too exhausting. I got to drive up the zig zag road again =)
What was particularly difficult for me for this trip was my lack of sleep. I literally fought falling asleep 15 minutes before my driving time was up and that was everytime I was driving. For safety, I had to nudge Joy to change already because I couldn’t keep my eyes open any longer. Surprisingly, the roads were really good this time, I guess it pays that one of the congressmen of Bicolandia is GMA’s son. He did good fixing them rotten roads. Of all the times I have been driving to Bicol, this by far was the best road conditions I have encountered. To think that I thought last December was already good.
We did our visita iglesia along the churches that we passed along the highway. There was just one church, I think in Gumaca that didn’t have the Cross enveloped in purple cloth which was strange. This time I was ready with my way of the cross prayer book, it felt more real and solemn for me.
After more than 12 hours of driving, we arrived at our destination, Naga. Aaaahhh time to sleep.
Will ramble on again tomorrow =)
