American Idol – Carly’s out

YEY!!! I know she’s good but I really don’t like here… feeling feeling eh…

I’m hoping for an all male final 3… yes… we have to do with Jason Castro because they voted off Michael Johns… huhuhuhu

It was interesting though.. the top 2 performers for me on the Andre Lloyd Weber theme ended up at the bottom 2 – Carly and Syesha…

Good though that Carly was voted out… she is the stronger singer of the 3 females in the top 6…

It is now only a matter of time… unless JCastro makes a really horrendous performance that his puppy cute eyes won’t be able to save him…

Kristy Lee is out

Finally!!! hehehe I wasn’t a fan of her…. she’s pretty and all but I could never forget the Dolly Parton in helium show…she’s been very lucky but I guess this time her luck has run out.

Yahoo’s Idol News said:

The praise of Mariah Carey couldn’t rescue Kristy Lee Cook from elimination on “American Idol.” The 24-year-old resident country singer from Selma, Ore., was the latest casualty as the Fox sing-off narrowed the competition to six finalists.

When asked to predict the loser, Cowell said: “Maybe Kristy — you know, your time’s up this time, sweetheart.”

I liked last night’s show… David Archuleta was good, David Cook was fantastic and Jason Castro was super cool!

Among the girls, I think Syesha sang the best but she doesn’t seem to have much of a personality as Simon would say… wala syang dating… Carly sang Without You and I couldn’t help but remember that YouTube Ken Lee video… tulibudi bidouchuuuuu

day breaker…inconsiderate car owners

as if yesterday wasn’t bad enough..

i was driving my school bus this morning on my way to the office… as i approached my street corner which is almost always cramped with passenger jeepneys and construction debris…

a red car was parked behind a jeep across the construction debris, several wood planks with protruding giant nails…

the construction workers tried to help saying they would guide me if i try to squeeze my school bus through the narrow path… i vehemently said “no way, i want him to move!!!”… besides i knew without a doubt i wouldn’t fit…

so, with all the emotion stored up from yesterday, i happily honked the horn until the inconsiderate fool/stupid car owner came running out to move the car… i also managed to yell that i didnt know they’ve bought that part of the street…

then i smiled and apologized to the construction owners for the ruckus i made hehehe

it felt good haaaayyyy

heartache sa work…

i just have to rant… i almost cried out of frustration today…

we have gazillion things to do and we’ve already missed several deadlines…
even when i know she’s just releasing pent up work frustrations, i can’t help but feel bad when she has to point out those tasks i’ve overlooked… even when she also overlooked them… wala akong kalaban laban…
yun lang…

Reading list – Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse

The 2nd book I finished over the holyweek was Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight. Now this book I absolutely love love love! I’ve heard about this great discovery from the young adult section but I wasn’t inclined to get myself a copy yet because I still have a pile of books I haven’t finished reading. I thought this was something like Artemis Fowl and the Princess Diaries which I indulged myself when I wanted some light fun reading.

Fortunately, an officemate of mine mentioned about how fantastic this book was so I took the opportunity to borrow it.

Twilight is Meyer’s debut novel described as a love story with a bite. It’s a story of 17-year old Isabella moving in a small town and finds adventure in love, a mysterious beautiful classmate who happens to be a vampire. I describe it as Interview with the Vampire meets Sweet Dreams… a fantastic suspense mystery with syrupy high school romance… nothing could be better hahaha.

New Moon and Eclipse are the succeeding books and I am now reading book 3… What is it with our fascination with vampires and werewolves… I am now a proud owner of all 3 books and I can’t wait for the 4th and final installment. I can’t wait to see the movie…

Reading List: finally… We Came to the End

I finished 2 books over the holy week… felt soo good hahaha it’s been awhile since I did that.

The first one I finished laboriously…. there was much hype about Joshua Ferris’ book Then We Came to the End so of course I had to buy it. Aside from winning the Barnes and Noble Discover New Writers Award and being a National Book Award Finalist, the fact that it was out of stock in most bookstores got me even more curious.

Unfortunately, I didn’t enjoy it as much as I thought I would, in fact, I was very disappointed. It is described as the “definitive novel about the contemporary American workplace, heartbreaking, hysterically funny.” I suppose it was, I could relate to it but found it uninteresting at times.

Now that I think about the book, I think I appreciate it more AFTER I have read it, not while I was reading it. There were some funny moments, and even somber ones but most of the time, I had to force myself to finish it… there has to be a silver lining to this reading material…I paid for this book… I waited for stocks to come through…

The book is, at the very least, good for passing time, it isn’t a page-turner. It tells of the bittersweet aspects of office life, those of us who are “trapped” in the drudgery of everyday office work, ranting and raving and yet staying nonetheless. It is best described by this line “Yet for all the depression no one ever quit.”

The interesting thing about the book is that some of the situations don’t just only apply to the work place… the gossip, intrigue, speculation, pretensions, and the real friends you eventually discover because of all that.

It is the kind of book that continues to reveal itself after you’ve read it. Especially for me, being the office environment, I cannot help but feel a semblance of deja vu of some office situations I encounter.

Overall, I recommend you read it, IF you have the time… it’s a good book for while waiting in the airport and stuff…
