work work work
Work is now starting to pour in… it seems a lot but I know it’s only because I’m new in my division and still need to be familiar with operations work… I know I will eventually be able to do this with ease and not much anxiety.
Change is good, it’s exciting, exhilirating…
but now, I really do need to get back to work…

2008 in a nutshell
Definitely a very eventful year for me… Travel. We didn’t do as much traveling this year because of wedding preps but I did get t
o see New York City! Yey! And it was autumn, the colors were absolutely fabulous. Las Vegas and Halloween is just magnificent… all that color, costumes and the amazing shows! I do miss our quick weekend get-aways. Maybe once we get more settled with keeping house, we’ll have more time for lakwacha.
Work. I transferred to a new department to do mainstream operations work. I’ve been in the same department for 7 years doing operations support work and knowledge management. I do miss my “old” team but this is definitely an exciting change career wise and I’m glad my new “team” is as fun and helpful. Can’t wait to see what 2009 brings. Sports. Didn’t get to play as much underwater hockey this year but I did run more. I think I’m running faster but I have to work on my distance and endurance.
Reading. I read several books this year! Yey!

The Last Templar by Raymund Khoury

The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks

Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer

French Women Don’t Get Fat by Mireille Guiliano
Dance. Didn’t dance as much this year although we did present for the Bank’s 42nd Anniversary Celebration and a short bit for our Guild’s Summer Workshop Recital. I miss it, especially jazz and the hip hop and belly dancing workouts I used to religiously attend.
I also miss doing bikram yoga and pilates. Haaay so many activities, so little time.
Photography. I’ve been a lazy photographer. Although I did enroll in a 2-day photography workshop organized by our camera club taught by Ross Capili. I even won a coffee table book after successfully answering a question about noise in digital photography. I also bought an 18-200mm Nikkor f/3.5-5.6G ED DX VR lens and I just love it. I’ve been tempted to do another camera upgrade but my pro photog friend told me to invest in lenses if I were to consider serious photography. Haay, and here I was getting impatient about the remote control for my camera hehehe
Holiday season. This season has been very hectic, I barely had time preparing for it. Our home is scantily decorated which is good because there wouldn’t be that much post holiday clean up to do. I realized now how I would decorate for the holidays hehehe. Next year I will have my Christmas tree!!!
I tremendously enjoy the small party we had with my officemates at our home. The pasta I prepared right before their eyes was an instant hit. They couldn’t believe I did in 30 minutes from scratch. Somebody brought the nicer sounding magic mic (I think it’s Ziller) and everybody belted out tunes. Despite the great sound system and mixed performances and vocals, we didn’t get any neighbor complaints hehehe.
I am all excited for 2009 and the adventures it will surely bring. I just wish it includes more time for sleep.
