work work work

Work is now starting to pour in… it seems a lot but I know it’s only because I’m new in my division and still need to be familiar with operations work… I know I will eventually be able to do this with ease and not much anxiety.

Change is good, it’s exciting, exhilirating…

but now, I really do need to get back to work…

tis the season…

It’s just the first week of December and it’s already hectic with parties and all. Just this week, I will be attending 3 parties plus the Golden Boy vs. PacMan fight.

We normally hold office yearend parties (note: we don’t refer to it as Christmas party) early because many staff go on home leave. Tomorrow, several departments will be celebrating including my new and my previous department. AND in both departments I have been designated to come up with some form of entertainment. One theme is Olympics and we will be doing a tae-bo boxing In the Ayer. The other one is Red Carpet Movie Premiere and we need to be Stayin’ Alive. Also, together with the other newbies in my new department, we need to Shake to the Yin Yang Twins.

Next week, I have at least 2 parties to go to… I guess it’s downhill from there when you’re trying to lose some pounds. Even when you get small portions, because there are just so many dishes, you still end up with a mountain on your plate. It’s also hard to resist getting seconds of those that you like.

With the season, comes many errands and tasks. Our house has barely donned its holiday garb. I haven’t finished buying the décor, I still haven’t figured out where to put my big Christmas tree… I already have several small ones scattered around plus I can’t find the hooks to hang my wreaths.

Gift shopping is another challenge. I have my list and boy has it grown longer, good thing many are out of the country hehehe I don’t need to buy them anything. However, I can’t seem to find my box of holiday wrapping supplies.

What I am looking forward to is seeing all my friends and family. I already have plans with my college group, my office group and my sports group. What’s nice about organizing is I get to choose whom I want to see hehehe.

Gotta go … practice time daw…

i’m also reading live blogs on the game… it’s soo funny right now, some LA fans are thinking of switching off their TV sets…

let’s see if LA can make a better 2nd half performance…

Yey! It’s Lakers vs. Celtics! Dubbed as the Dream NBA Finals…after 21 years… they meet again for the 11th time! Like the good old days, as some would say. The NBA website says this is the first time since 1998 that the Finals won’t feature a Shaquille O’Neal or a Tim Duncan. Stay tuned…

Game 1: June 5 at Boston
Game 2: June 8 at Boston
Game 3: June 10 at Staples
Game 4: June 12 at Staples
Game 5: June 15 at Staples*
Game 6: June 17 at Boston*
Game 7: June 19 at Boston*

big David vs small David

who will win? you’re guess is as good as mine… saw the show last night (i was one of those who rushed to see the 8pm sched) and Archuleta was really good especially his first song… but after 2 more similar songs I got bored with him. Cookey’s songs were fresh though maybe not the materials to make him win….

here are some posts that makes this season all the more interesting… I got this from www.rickey.org

- Judges think David Archuleta knocked out David Cook in last night’s show… AND almost all media outlets agree

- BUT all other indicators like iTunes, DialIdol, Zabasearch and virtually every Internet poll points to a massive and lopsided David Cook win

and this is what i also truly believe: Win or lose, David Cook has the potential to outsell David Archuleta in anything. YEY! Unless Disney channel gets Archuleta then he may have a fighting chance ala Hannan Montana.

and the clock ticks…. let’s wait and see…

house hunting…

We went house hunting over the weekend… with only 2 real appointments, we spent the rest of Sunday driving around and wasting gas in areas we were thinking of setting up the nest. We were armed with the latest copy of buy and sell complete with highlighted ads. I also tried making phone calls and text inquiries but the pickings were slim, I suppose the weekend made them too lazy to answer.

We checked out Greenhills Garden Square near Camp Crame. I did a double take when they opened the door to a 2-bedroom unit. The living/dining area was soo tiny! Well, maybe it was just right, I don’t know, I am not used to living in spaces where you have to maximize every inch. It looked like it was just as big as my room and I already find my room small being the pack-rat that I am. They showed us a combined unit and my goodness, it was literally that… 2 units with the walls removed. The living/dining was nice… spacious but the bedrooms were oddly shaped, especially the master’s bedroom.

Next was a meeting with some guy for some townhouse in Pasig… beware of vague locations… Pasig could be Kapitolyo or near Cainta and I don’t want to live in the fake Ortigas Avenue (Ortigas extension). The place was in C. Raymundo… I already expressed my hesitation but curiosity got the better of me… we followed the grand-daddy-ish looking guy… lo and behold, I found myself in unfamiliar territory. The only familiar place was Arlington and we’ve passed that ages ago… I didn’t like the distance we were covering… We eventually got to Pasig Millennium Garden/Square (I forget) and the place was actually nice, it was the only unit with a garden, one can imagine lazy weekend brunches outside, the house was not yet laspag, it still felt a bit new. Had it been located in a “friendlier” place, we would get it…

There was one last reply in Kapitolyo, some low-rise condo place at West Drive (?)…. really small and only 1 bathroom!!! Plus you could hear the tricycles plying the streets.

Sunday was spent driving around San Juan, Greenhills, Pasig Kapitolyo area…. We also looked at several “cheap” townhouses for sale in good locations with good sized rooms.

I am now getting the hang of this thing… I now notice the kind of floorings used, the bathrooms, the walls and cabinetry…

I am also discovering things about myself… I didn’t realize I was picky about bathrooms, kitchens and cabinets…. I can imagine the flows through the house, whether guests would have an easy time visiting, if the house is airy, if there’s good ventilation… it’s amazing.

American Idol – Carly’s out

YEY!!! I know she’s good but I really don’t like here… feeling feeling eh…

I’m hoping for an all male final 3… yes… we have to do with Jason Castro because they voted off Michael Johns… huhuhuhu

It was interesting though.. the top 2 performers for me on the Andre Lloyd Weber theme ended up at the bottom 2 – Carly and Syesha…

Good though that Carly was voted out… she is the stronger singer of the 3 females in the top 6…

It is now only a matter of time… unless JCastro makes a really horrendous performance that his puppy cute eyes won’t be able to save him…
